Digital Cut (“Digital Cut,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) hosts a multi-day digital conference and related online experiences. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit our websites, register for or attend our events, use our apps and platforms, or otherwise interact with us (collectively, the “Services”).
This Policy applies to attendees, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, partners, job applicants, and website visitors. By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect
A. Information you provide directly
- Registration & profile: name, email, phone, company, job title, role/seniority, country, industry, interests, profile photo/avatar, and any details you add.
- Billing & payment: billing name, address, tax/VAT ID. Payment card data is processed by our PCI-compliant payment processors; we do not store full card numbers.
- Submissions & interactions: chat messages, Q&A, polls, surveys, help tickets, speaker/partner applications, sponsorship inquiries, “Convince Your Boss” forms.
- Content contributions: session materials, recordings of talks you give, demos you run, or content you upload.
- Networking choices: connections you initiate, meeting requests, messages, and any digital badge/QR scans you approve within our platform.
B. Information collected automatically
- Device & usage data: IP address, device identifiers, browser type/version, OS, pages or screens viewed, referral URLs, app actions, session timing, performance and crash logs.
- Cookies/SDKs/pixels: used for functionality, analytics, and (where permitted) advertising/retargeting. See Cookies & Tracking below.
C. Information from third parties
- Single Sign-On / social sign-in: if you connect a social or SSO account, we receive basic profile data you authorize.
- Sponsors/partners/platform vendors: where you’ve opted in (e.g., by checking a box, clicking Connect with Sponsor, or approving a digital badge/QR scan), we may receive lead information or engagement metrics tied to sponsor activations.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Provide & operate the Services: process registrations, issue tickets, host sessions, enable networking, deliver support, and operate features like calendars, auto-notes, and on-demand replays.
- Improve & personalize: troubleshoot, analyze usage, test features, protect against abuse, and recommend sessions/people you may like.
- Communicate with you: transactional emails (receipts, access links, schedule updates), service notices, and—with your consent or as permitted—newsletters and marketing. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Enable event networking & lead generation: if you opt to share your details with a sponsor (see Sponsor & Exhibitor Sharing (Optional)), that sponsor may contact you under its own privacy policy.
- Advertising & measurement (where permitted): measure campaign performance and show you relevant Digital Cut promotions; control via Cookie Settings and Your Privacy Choices.
- Security & legal compliance: detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or policy violations; comply with law; enforce our terms; protect our rights.
Legal bases (EEA/UK). We rely on: (i) performance of a contract (event delivery), (ii) legitimate interests (product improvement, security, limited first-party marketing), (iii) consent (email marketing, sponsor sharing, certain cookies), and (iv) compliance with legal obligations.
3. When We Disclose Information
We use the collected inWe do not sell personal information for money. Some laws treat certain “sharing” for targeted advertising as a “sale” or “share.” See Your U.S. State Privacy Rights.
We may disclose personal information to:formation to:
- Service providers / processors: payments, ticketing, streaming, transcription/auto-notes, analytics, CRM, email, customer support, cloud hosting—only as needed to provide the Services, under contract.
- Sponsors & exhibitors (optional): only when you choose to share (see next section). Once shared, your data is handled under the sponsor’s privacy policy. You can refuse sharing and still attend sessions (except clearly gated, sponsor-hosted experiences)
- Other attendees you connect with: content you choose to disclose in chats, meeting requests, or networking features is visible to recipient(s).
- Affiliates and corporate transactions: to our affiliates, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or asset transfer
- Legal & safety: when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
Sponsor & Exhibitor Sharing (Optional)
We disclose your contact details to a sponsor/exhibitor only when you take one of these actions:
- Select a “Share my details with sponsors” checkbox during registration or in account settings;
- Click an in-platform “Connect with Sponsor” or similar button; or
- Approve a digital badge/QR scan at a sponsored session, room, activation, or virtual booth.
After sharing, the sponsor/exhibitor is an independent controller of your information, subject to its own privacy policy. You can decline sharing and still enjoy non-gated content.
4. Cookies & Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site/app, remember preferences, analyze usage, and (where allowed) measure or deliver Digital Cut ads.
- Categories: strictly necessary, functional, analytics, advertising.
- Consent management: for EU/UK visitors we use a Consent Management Platform (CMP) compatible with IAB TCF 2.2. You can give/withdraw consent and resurface the banner at any time via Cookie Settings.
- Your controls: manage cookies in Cookie Settings and your browser/device settings; some features may not function without certain cookies.
5. Retention
We retain personal information as long as needed for the purposes above, then delete or de-identify it. Illustrative ranges:
- Account & registration records: event end + 24 months
- Transactions & invoices: 7 years (tax/finance)
- Support tickets: 24 months
- Recordings & auto-notes: 12–24 months (unless legal/consent requirements suggest longer or removal is requested where feasible)
- Analytics & advertising logs: 13–24 months We may keep de-identified or aggregated data longer.
6. Security
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data we handle. No system is 100% secure; please use strong, unique passwords and keep them confidential.
7. Your Choices
- Marketing preferences: unsubscribe links are included in marketing emails; you can also email [privacy@digitalcut.co].
- Sponsor sharing: toggle your preference at registration or in account settings; you can always decline scans/sharing
- Cookies: adjust preferences via Cookie Settings and browser/device settings
- Profile & communications: edit your profile and app settings, or contact support.
8. Your Privacy Rights
EEA/UK (GDPR)
You may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your data, and to object to certain processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time (this won’t affect prior processing). You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
EU/UK representatives (if applicable): If Digital Cut lacks an EU/UK establishment but targets these regions, we will appoint an Article 27 representative and list their contact details here: [EU/UK Representative name and address].
International transfers: We may process and store information in countries outside your own (including the U.S.). Where required, we use Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and, for the UK, the UK Addendum.
United States (California and other states)
Depending on your state, you may have rights to:
- Know/access the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected;
- Delete or correct personal information;
- Opt out of a sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising;
- Limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information; and
- Appeal a decision regarding your privacy request (e.g., Colorado and certain other states).
We do not sell personal information for money. We may “share” limited identifiers (e.g., cookies) for cross-context behavioral advertising and, if you opt in, disclose your name and contact details to sponsors.
How to exercise your rights / opt out of sale or sharing
Use our Your Privacy Choices / Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link (in the site footer) or email [privacy@digitalcut.co]. We also honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals for California and apply similar opt-out rights where required by other U.S. state laws.
Verification & authorized agents (CA): To protect your data, we verify requests (e.g., email confirmation or ID match). California residents may use an authorized agent with proof of authorization and identity verification.
Appeals (e.g., CO/CT/VA): If we deny your request, you may appeal by emailing support@digitalcut.co with the subject “Privacy Appeal.” We will respond in writing within 45 days (extendable where permitted) with an explanation and any further rights.
Non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
Sensitive personal information: We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information to provide the Services. If a feature later requests it (e.g., precise location for local scheduling), we will limit its use to the disclosed purpose and honor applicable “limit use” rights.
9. Automated Decision-Making & Profiling
We do not make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. We may use profiling (e.g., recommending sessions or people to meet). You can control such personalization in account settings or by contacting us.
10. Event Recordings, Photos, Auto-Notes & Engagement
Sessions may be recorded (audio/video), photographed, transcribed, and summarized (auto-notes). By attending, you acknowledge that your image, voice, name, employer, and participation (e.g., Q&A/chat) may appear in session content, replays, and reasonable event marketing and recap materials. We also log attendance and engagement (e.g., sessions you join, questions you ask, poll responses) to deliver post-event materials and improve programming.
If you believe your likeness appears in our materials and want us to review removal where feasible, contact support@digitalcut.co.
11. Children
The Services are intended for professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 (or lower age where permitted by local law). If you believe a child has provided us data, contact support@digitalcut.co to request deletion.
12. Third-Party Links and Services
The Services may link to third-party sites, apps, sponsors, or exhibitors. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies; review those before sharing information.

14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post a notice on our site or notify you by email. The “Last updated” date indicates the latest revision.
